Zakład Informatyki i Telekomunikacji was founded by merging the coalmines’ IT departaments and ROW Communication Centre which were parts of Rybnicka Spółka Węglowa S.A.

The fibre-optic technology
Launching a fibre-optic ring that connects all the branches of Rybnicka Spółka Węglowa S.A.
1997 r.ATM TECHNOLOGY
Creation of the metropolitan network
Zakład Informatyki i Telekomunikacji creates the first commercial installation of the metropolitan network in Poland, with the use of ATM technology ( Asynchronous Transfer Mode), which connects seven different locations in different parts of Silesia.
2003 r.A BRANCH OF KOMPANIA WĘGLOWA S.A.
Entering the structure of the new company and extending the scope of activities.
At the time of establishment of Kompania Węglowa S.A. – The Unit becomes part of the Company as one of Specialist Organisational Unit of KW S.A. It provides IT services for all branches of KW S.A. and coordinates the cooperation of the branches with telecom companies. At the same time, it fulfils duties regarding Telecommunication Act on behalf of the Telecommunication Operator Kompania Węglowa S.A.
2006 r.VIRTUALISATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT WITH THE USE OF CPD
Upgrading to VMware
Starting to use server virtualization solutions based on WMware tools.
2007 r.NEW HEADQUARTERS
Change of the location of the headquarters.
Moving the Unit's headquarters to the current location.

Launching a Data Warehouse ERP system based on Business Objects tools and software
2008 r.MODERN Data Processing Centre
Creation of a professional Data Processing Centre
Completion of the construction of a professional Data Processing Centre operating in the TIER3 standard.
Voice over Internet Protocol technology
Launching the provision of VoIP telephony services using own and other operator's Internet networks.
The numbering assigned to the subscriber is published in the National Subscriber Directories.
2009 r.CENTRAL SERVICE DESK
Launching central Service Desk
Launch of the central Service Desk, the organisation of which was based on ITIL guidelines, for Kompania Węglowa S.A. and all the plant's clients.
2010 r.ACTIVE DIRECTORY AND CORPORATE MAIL
Launching a domain service
Launching a domain service, and, later, launching corporate mail based on Microsoft solutions such as Active Directory and Exchange, for around 8000 users.
2014 r.ELECTRONIC DOCUMENT FLOW
Electronic Document Flow
Designing, creation, and implementation of Electronic Document Flow in the whole company for over 20 organisational units (mines and other institutions).
2016 r.PGG S.A. UNIT
Becoming part of the structure of the new company and extending the scope of activities.
Zakład Informatyki i Telekomunikacji is part of Polska Grupa Górnicza sp. z o.o. (later called: Polska Grupa Górnicza S.A.). In 2017 it takes over the services for other institutions purchased by PGG S.A. from Katowicki Holding Węglowy S.A.
2019 r.BACKUP CPD
Creation of the backup CPD
Establishing a Back-up Processing Centre for the ERP system operating at PGG S.A. in the Unit's Basic CPD, and, in the next stage, transferring the SAP BO system to it.
2019 r.VIRTUAL REALITY
Creating a team and starting work on Virtual Reality projects.
Preparing the first scenario in cooperation with an external company.
2020 r.ARTIFICIAL INTELIGENCE
Chat and VoiceBots
Involvement in Artificial Intelligence technologies, Chat and VoiceBots, as well as solutions related to robotization and process automation (RPA).
